本日、YouTubeが「ピクチャーインピクチャー機能（PiP）」が課金ユーザー以外でも利用可能になると発表しました。

We’re excited to share that picture-in-picture (PiP) is now rolling out to all users globally in the coming months.
Non-Premium Viewers: For users in the US, there will be no change to your PiP experience. For users outside of the US, you now have access to PiP for longform, non-music content on Android and iOS.

今までPiP機能は「Premiumユーザー」のみが使える機能でした（なぜかiPadは無料ユーザーでも使える時期がありましたけど）それが今回から非課金ユーザーでも利用可能になるみたいですね。
ただ説明文では「音楽以外の長尺コンテンツのPiP機能が利用可能」と書かれているので、長尺のみ利用できる可能性がありますね。
